I feel so blessed to live in such a gorgeous city as Mukilteo. This weekend the weather was amazing and I was able to get out and create some architectual photos of the surroundings, celebrating our beautiful new Rosehill Community Center.

Rock the DRESS! Friday May 20th 4:00

You spent days going to dress shops looking for the perfect dress. Prom has come… and gone… The pictures you have from that night are fun and will help you to remember the experience, but did you really get an awesome photo of YOU in your dress? Since we can’t be part of Prom night, but wanted to participate in some way, we are hosting an after Prom Rock the Dress event. Friday May 20th from 4:00 to 6:00pm we will be taking photos of YOU and that dress. Sessions are FREE and we will post the photos on our facebook page at facebook.com/vickiderksphotography. That night we will be taking donations to Kamiak Senior Grad Night Party. Come alone or with a bunch of friends. You can even bring your guy. Who Loves a Garage Sale?

This weekend Mukilteo is having their City-Wide Garage Sale. My girls and I look forward to and plan for this event every year. In the years past I’ve been able to find some fun props for the studio and a few treasures for myself. But, the part I love the best is the community spirit I find traveling from neighborhood to neighborhood. Everyone is in a good mood. People will have hot dogs and lemonade stands. There will be music playing and just good old fashioned small town fun to be had.

I would love to hear what some of your favorite garage sale finds have been. Last year I scooped up a beautiful Ethan Allen Chest and a chandelier for the studio, a designer mannequin for my daughter’s college apartment and a lawnmower for my husband. If you are going to be out and about, I hope to run into you. If you are having a sale of your own, let me know and I will be sure and stop by.

Jennifer ~ Seattle Senior Pictures

Jennifer was referred to me as a Lens of Love client in March. She is a super smart and dedicated student. She is valedictorian of the Kamiak High School 2011 class. When we met she was trying to decide between Princeton, MIT, and the USC undergrad medical program. In addition, she is also the state Taekwondo Champion. Working with young people with these skills really amazes me. Best of luck Jennifer!
